About Little Ol' Me

Dive into my awesome, unfiltered, real story about who I am and the experiences that have shaped me.

I'm so glad you asked.

WHO AM I?

Growing up with Marfan syndrome meant spending a good chunk of my childhood and teenage years in and out of hospitals, recovering from surgeries instead of playing outside. Between the procedures and the constant doctor’s visits, I struggled with my self-esteem. I felt limited by my body’s constraints, but I also learned something important early on: “If I can’t exercise my body, I can exercise my voice.” And that’s exactly what I did.

In high school and into college, I threw myself into advocacy and organizing. My first experience organizing was at 15. I introduced a bill into the 2017 Legislative Session in Nevada to lower the voting age for school board elections. The idea came to me after my first internship at City Hall, learning about a movement of young people advocating to have their voices heard in our political system. I realized from this experience that my voice is powerful and can catalyze change. From there, I was hooked.

You can read an interview former reporter Las Vegas Review Journal reporter Neal Morton published in October 2016 on our initiative here.

I traveled around the country, connecting with others who shared my drive for meaningful change. I even gave a TEDx Talk in L.A.—though it never aired, just standing on that stage was an empowering moment, a reminder that my voice could make an impact, whether anyone was watching or not.

My college years were all about exploring possibilities. I interned at The Soze Agency, worked as a house cleaner, tutored middle school students, dove into community impact coordination for an education nonprofit, and even assisted a lawyer. Each experience gave me new perspectives, sharpened my skills, and showed me different ways to contribute to something bigger than myself.

It was clear that advocacy and government was the path meant for me. It just felt right advocating for my community and engaging in government, contributing to making an impact from the inside.

So after graduating from UNLV in 2022 (as a first-gen student, woo-hoo!), I had a nine-month stint in Congress, thanks to the Victory Congressional Institute. Living in D.C. on my own brought a sense of freedom and independence—I was finally making life happen on my terms. But about three weeks in, I realized working in government affairs just wasn’t for me.

I just realized that the career path I chased in  college didn't align with me. It felt like I was wearing someone else’s shoes, too tight and not quite my style.

So I pivoted. I returned to Vegas and jumped into a tech mentorship program, discovering the world of entrepreneurship, startups, and digital content. This realm of creativity and innovation clicked in a way nothing else had. Over the past two years, I’ve launched and scaled four digital brands and generated over 125,000 content views. I fell in love with content writing, content marketing, and storytelling—tools that can uplift mission-driven organizations and empower people to take action.

Then came a curveball from life. In June 2024, I faced retinal detachments in both eyes—at one point, I lost my vision in my left eye, and doctors told me there was no indication if I'd ever regain it. However, four surgeries and five months later, I found myself wearing a giant eye patch, with my vision restored, rethinking my life’s direction. This experience reminded me that our time is precious and fragile. It pushed me to double down on what truly matters: using my voice, skills, and creativity to support organizations that make a positive impact.

Today, I’m channeling my energy into content writing for mission-driven nonprofits, social enterprises, and brands that want to tell their stories and move people to action. I’m here, stronger than before, ready to help craft narratives that inspire change and amplify the voices of those who care.
